Only recently I discovered that there are some really good MM romances out there with rather villain-like/serious/bad-ass/masculine men. Too fast burn (I often DNF 'cause the couple gets together too fast and there isn't any interesting tension left). I want them to be reluctant of their attraction (!), to try to fight it, to have those explosive moments where they are arguing and the tension builds up and they start kissing and afterwards still have that reluctance and confusion over wtf just happened or too light in the way that the MMC isn't bad-ass enough - I'm really sucker for the "college king" theme) or not BDSM or dub-con stuff, but just not the la la la feeling with a lot of humor and zero sexual buildup and tension (however, there can be humor in the friend group). Too light (but I like more darker setting. There are many similar posts but somehow I've scrolled and scrolled and just don't have many books to read.
